Milestone Achieved: All Southern Regions of Kyrgyzstan Are Now Equipped with Training and Phototherapy Lamps – A Significant Step Forward for the Sustainable Medical Care of Newborns.

As part of our project funding programme, we received a pleasing interim report from our partner STLI / Woolfield GmbH in September 2025. We were very pleased to find out that the organisation received
an official licence from the Kyrgyzstan Ministry of Health at the end of August for the production and distribution of phototherapy lamps. These lamps are used to treat newborns with jaundice and make an important contribution towardspreventing permanent disabilities.

Thanks to the funding from our foundation, 190 phototherapy lamps were produced locally and distributed to healthcare professionals as part of two training sessions held in the south of the country. A total of 96 specialists were trained and equipped with the lamps. This means that all southern regions of Kyrgyzstan have now been given training and provided with phototherapy lamps. The successful implementation of this phase of the project represents a significant step forward in medical care for newborns in Kyrgyzstan. Local production and close cooperation with the Ministry of Health will help ensure that the project is sustainable. We are very pleased with this major progress and would like to thank the project team for their great commitment in the country.
